Angela Plut, First Grade Teacher


Economics: Earning, Spending, and Saving Money

Mrs. Plut's class is starting financial planning early. Read on to find out what they learned. 


We chose things from the list to buy with $100.  “We spent and we saved,” said Lily.



“Look at how much money we have. We used our money to spend and save,” 
said Ayva.    

“We helped each other,” said Alan.


“We had to count our money to see how much we had to buy things,” said Kayla.  “It was hard to choose what to buy, but I found the things I wanted the most,” said Zoraida.


“We were writing down our choices. It was fun,” said Mikayla. “We saved $15,” said Tyler.  “It was fun,” said Rory Kate. 

“We saved $11,” said Arwen.                                                                                            


“We wanted to buy the movie tickets, but they weren’t something we needed,” Said Tyler.


Jimmy said, “We have to buy some soap or we will be stinky!!”  “This was the best activity ever,” said Skylar.


“We had fun spending and saving our money,” said Sophie.  “We had a lot of money,” said Zayne.


“We are thinking about what we want to buy,” said Emily.  
“We spent a lot of money,” said Taron.  
“We saw if we had enough money to buy stuff,” said Ben.  
“We needed milk and food first,” said Frankie.  “I wanted to go to the movies,” said Jimmy.

  1. This is a very good activity. It is especially good since Mrs Plut's class was on the Blog. Frankie said he really had fun. We are all so impressed to see Frankie's picture on the web.
