Ragd, Kara & Aimee-4th Grade Students

Fun with Fables and Folktales

In reading we have learned about fables and folktales. We learned that both stories are fiction and long ago were told orally among a culture. The plots of both include problem and solution, or good vs evil. The characters are either people or animals, but fables usually have animals with human like qualities.  They both have a central message that we learn a life lesson or moral from.

During writing time, we wrote our own fables or folktales imitating the mentor ones. We kept some of the plot and problem the same as the original story but changed the characters, setting, and solution. Our whole class loved this assignment, and we hope we can do it again.
